Saturday, November 3 at 8:45 AM - Disc Golf Tournament. The 2007 Lee
Naquin/Bud Hill Disc Gold Tournament is being held Saturday and Sunday at Shelby Forest, Edmond Orgill and Bud Hill Disc Golf Course. Some of us are planning on going to watch the tournament and cheer on two of our Mensa members, Gary Waggoner & Byron Woods
(PomPoms not required!). Join us Saturday morning at the Shelby Forest Course Pavilion at 8:45 am. The Players Meeting begins at 9:00 and a lot of questions about Disc Golf will be answered.

Happy Thanksgiving
The UG is over and you can read all about it on the
M-Friends website and/or in the Memphis Mensa Newsletter. Many thanks to
everyone who participated. We ended up showing a profit of over $500 (to be
used for M-Friends events) and we have donated $100 to the Memphis Literacy
Council in loving memory of our dear friend, Dial Bowen.
We've been having some new members show
up for the Friday night dinners and it's always difficult for them to find
our table, since they don't know any of us. Sooo, I got creative and made
a giant yellow lapel pin to set on the table. Mensa used to send you a
small yellow lapel pin when you joined, although I don't think they still
do that. However, this pin's modeled after that. It stands about 30"
high and has a bright yellow ball on top. Imagine if the Jolly Green
Giant's outfit had lapels -- this would be the pin for him! So join us any
Friday night and just look for the lapel pin on the table. You won't be
able to miss it.
Starting in January, we're going to be
having a Games Night once each month. The format hasn't been completely
decided yet, so let us have your input. Would you prefer a variety of
games or focus on one game each month? What types of games would you
enjoy? What night would be good for Games Night? Would you be willing to
host games night at your house one month? Other
suggestions/comments for Games Night or any other event you'd like to see?
M-Friends was going to host a holiday party in December but the Wagoners
are hosting the Memphis Mensa Holiday party, so we've opted to throw all
our efforts into helping make that party a success (not that the Wagoners
need any help with THAT. They're great hosts! But you can never have too
much help. We are going to have a Wine & Cheese Party in November, so
I hope everyone will join us at Dick Shaw's house for that.

M-Friends event, but M-Friends will be donating wine and several of
us are planning on bringing some hot hors d'ouvres. We hope everyone
