Friday, October 19 at 6:00 PM - Dinner at Dino's Grill, 645 N McLean
Blvd. According to Rich, "Dino's on Friday and Saturday evening is a
different restaurant than the classic meat-and-three (with an Italian spin)
that it is the rest of the week. Young Dino (the son of Rudy Grisanti, the
proprietor) spent a half-year at Poughkeepsie's Culinary Institute of
America. On Friday and Saturday evenings he gets to put that training to
work for the customers. Each week's menu is different, depending on what
looked good at the marketplace that week. The cuisine is generally
Italy-inspired, but it's a long way from spaghetti-and-meatballs. Desserts
are good, too."
RSVP to Trisha@M-Friends.org
by noon on the 19th if you plan on attending.
Friday, October 26 aqt 6:00 PM - Dinner at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant, 8274

house (754) on the right past the stop sign at Tutwiler. If driveway full,
park around the corner on Castle.

Happy October!
If you haven't already registered for
the UnGathering, the time is NOW. We have visitors coming from as far away
as Texas and Florida. I hope all Memphis members will join us in making
this a party our out of town visitors will want to come back to next year.
If the UG is a success (and I think it's going to be) maybe MM can have an
actual RG next year. RG's are great fun and the local group usually ends
up making some money out of it too.
If you can't make it for the entire
weekend, join us Friday night for the Luau and loads of hospitality. The
price for attending Friday night (from 6:00 to midnight) is $25 and if you
decide you want to enjoy the rest of the weekend with us, the $25 will
apply towards the full registration. Ya can't lose! There's more about the
UG below.
M-Friends is hosting a new member mixer
on Saturday, October 13 to welcome all the members new to the group.
Please try to join us for this party and meet some new friends.
On Saturday the 27th, Susan Hinson is
hosting her annual Halloween bash. If you haven't been to one of her
Halloween Parties, you're in for a treat. She goes all out with the
decorations and there's a prize for the best costume.
Hope to see all y'all soon.
Trisha

September 28-30
HOSPITALITY: Hospitality opens at 1:00
PM on Friday the 28, and runs continuously through noon on Sunday the
30th. No need to go out to eat meals, hospitality will have hot foods
served at various times throughout the UG. Enjoy a sampling of all the
wonderful foods that "almost were" available at the 2007 AG.
Many thanks to Central Alabama Mensa for sharing these food items with
M-Friends. Breakfast items served Saturday and Sunday morning include a
variety of muffins and pastries, biscuits with honey, jams and jellies and
sausage gravy.
LUAU ON THE LANAI: Friday night mixer out on the patio; wear your favorite
Hawaiian outfit or just enjoy the ambiance of the islands while sampling
the KICKASS Hawaiian Punch. And, since we have exclusive after-hours use
of the indoor pool and hot tub, if the wonderful Memphis weather doesn't
cooperate, we'll move the luau indoors.
DANCE: Rollin' on the River Dance on Saturday night. Dance the night away
to your favorite dance tunes.
WEEKEND LONG BOOK SALE: Peruse the many books available for sale donated
by our members. All proceeds of the book sale to be donated to the Memphis
Literacy Council in memory of our wonderful friend, Dial Bowen.
ALL-NIGHT MOVIES: We'll have a movie room with a big screen TV for showing
movies all night Friday and Saturday night. Send suggestions for movies to
trisha@m-friends.org.
GAME ROOM: Game room open 1:00 PM on Friday until noon on Sunday. All your
favorite board games, card games, and puzzles. Poker tournament -- time
and details to be announced later.
